Since enchanting creative floral displays are catnip to the public, museums around the world have discovered that when you ask floral artists to interpret existing gallery paintings, it creates the most successful fundraising extravaganzas. Millions of dollars are raised for museums as a result of these popular gatherings.

So now mark your calendars. Here are some recently announced events you may want to attend.

North Carolina’s Museum of Art’s “Art in Bloom” will take place March 16-20. In fact, Joseph Massie, who is the youngest person to win five consecutive Royal Horticultural Society gold medals and four best-in-show awards at the world-renowned RHS Chelsea Flower Show, will be creating a botanical installation for North Carolina’s event. Interpretations range from contemporary to modern designs and are true feats of art.

Art Alive,” San Diego Museum of Art’s popular event will be April 28th with tickets going on sale Feb. 1st. I particularly was struck by this image of “The Hands of Dr. Moore” by Diego Rivera interpreted by floral artist Kristine Sanchez from an “Art Alive” show. In wanting the world to be a better place with less divisiveness, this picture makes me think how flowers and nature can help heal wounds and repair souls.

And Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts’ “Art Alive” will take place April 29th with tickets going on sale March 2nd. This will mark the first time the event has taken place since 2019.  Organizers plan on having floral interpretations of 50 artworks.

Can’t wait to share it with you, my beloved flower lovers.
