The festival is highlighted by two exhibitions, organizers said. The Holiday forest features 18 monumental Christmas trees and special decorations designed and created by local artists, florists, schools and organizations. These trees interpret the exhibition: “ART + FOOD + HEALTH: At the Table with Joyce Garner” a solo exhibition by one of Kentucky’s leading contemporary artists. The festival is sponsored by The Glenmore Distillery, the traditional patron of the previous forty-two festivals. The gala will feature holiday cuisine and entertainment by Louisville Jazz group, The Greg Walker Trio. An entertainment event on opening night will feature a “crowd source” group decorating project by the gala’s guests where a trio of miniature Christmas trees will be created and raffled off to one of the participants. Raffle tickets are $10 each or free raffle tickets will be given to those creating decorations for the trees. Admission to the gala is $50 per person, discounted to $40 for subscribers to the OMFA Friends of the Foundation. Reservations may be made by contacting the museum at 270-685-3181 or info@omfa.us or visiting its website at www.omfa.us . “ART+FOOD+HEALTH: At the Table with Joyce Garner”, sponsored by Owensboro Health, an exhibition of 35 monumental paintings by the Louisville artist, celebrates how art and food combine to reflect notions of nourishment, wellbeing, family and friends, social rituals, desire and popular culture.
