Designing bridal bouquets that complement a dress—as well as a bride’s personality, stature, coloring, etc.—is as important as designing a landscape that appropriately coordinates with and enhances a building’s architecture and locale.
“I ask every bride to show me her dress,” shares Jenny Thomasson, AIFD, CFD, AAF, PFCI, EMC, design director of Stems Florist and Jenny T Floristry in Florissant (St. Louis), Mo. “This not only tells me a lot about her personality but also gives me an idea of what her bouquet should be. I also take into consideration the type of venue, aesthetic of the day, season, wedding color scheme/palette, personal favorites, etc. The more information I get, the more personal and in tune to each celebration my flowers will be.”
