Wren’s Florists & Greenhouses at 500 East Columbus Avenue in Bellefontaine is under new ownership. Kelli LeVan of rural Bellefontaine recently purchased the longtime city business from Kaye and Melody Couchman. The flower shop, which has been in operation for more than 95 years, had been closed since November 30th of last year when the Couchman’s decided to sell the business. Kelli and her daughter, Baylie LeVan, re-opened the business on February 17th. Baylie decided to switch from attending college on campus at Bowling Green State University to pursuing her degree in accounting online so that she could run the business with her mother. Kelli and Baylie are excited to carry on the mother-daughter dynamic of the business established by the Couchman’s. Since purchasing the business, the pair have updated the interior of the store through remodeling and fresh paint. They plan to continue to provide the same hometown service that Wren’s has been known for over the years. They will focus on fresh arrangements for various occasions, including holidays and sympathy, and will also offer a small selection of gifts, home decor and gardening items. They plan to provide delivery services anywhere in Logan County, and will make arrangements for customers needing arrangements outside of the area. The new owners hope to remodel and re-open the greenhouse in the future, so that they can expand their offerings. Listen to Kelli and Baylie talk about the business Wren’s Florists & Greenhouse will hold an Open House on Sunday March 1st, from 1 PM – 4 PM to celebrate their Grand Re-Opening.
