Do you take care of the asset?
You are the asset! “The best asset we have for making a contribution to the world is ourselves. If we underinvest in ourselves, and by that, I mean our minds, our bodies and our spirits, we damage the very tool we need to make our highest contribution,” says Greg McKeown in his book, Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less.
He’s right. Without you, there’s nothing. So, how well do you take care of yourself and your whole being? Your whole glorious being includes the holistic expression of your spirit as wonder, your body as wellness and your mind as wisdom.
It is useful to think of wonder, wellness and wisdom as brain centers with correlating organs and areas on the body to internalize and personify these resources.
• Wonder (spirit) and Heart (chest)
• Wellness (body) and Navel (abdomen)
• Wisdom (mind) and Brain (head)
To acknowledge, activate and bring them into balance, you can tap these areas throughout the day, in any order. I usually tap on the head, heart and belly, and then back up. You can do this by physically tapping, tapping a few inches away in the air, or virtually tapping with your imagination, to avoid having to explain.
This technique is a simple and painless way to see and accept yourself as a whole and to integrate glorious well-being.
