As a small home studio floral designer in Woodland Hills, California, here are a few things that we can do to  give hope to our wholesalers, farmers, our employees,  vendors, our families  and all in our supply chain.

What we are doing at Kreativehands….

  • Contacting all our wedding clients and sending them good wishes and volunteering to help in any way
  • Posting comforting messages periodically on Facebook and Instagram
  • Writing short comforting stories of people that have been in our lives that helped us in what ever way to bring blooms and bring joy to our business and our clients. ( See our stories Blooming moments on our website www.kreativehands.com)
  • Connecting with flower farms and wholesalers and sending them a list of potential orders for weddings that is up coming this year!
  • Compiling recipes for all our flowers to better manage our buying process. ( if you are unsure how to do this please reach out to Holly Heider Chapple) Also compiling Mood boards and send them to our clients so they know that even in times like this we care about their big day. Also making small gift items to present to our clients. This way we are also supporting another local business. Just little thoughtful  gifts.
  • After compiling the recipes sending a tentative order to all our farms or wholesalers we purchase flowers and other materials from, that way they know they will have orders coming in. Giving them Hope.
  • Offering our clients some discounts, getting to know their story during this hard times and see how their finances are and working with them.
  • Getting all the finances in order by reaching out to who ever we have bills with and asking for help, small payment, extensions any small help as we know all are hurting !
  • Organizing  emails, computer, our work spaces, donating items we have not used that may be helpful to others or sharing items or bartering.
  • Those of us that have a garden we can start planting it does not have to be large, even a few pots of herbs in a tiny apartment.
  • We are also making a list of trees we have that we can share with our flower friends locally for foraging!
  • Making a list of all the local farms and neighbors that we can source in times like this.
  • Share whatever information we have on social media!
  • Keep in touch with our photographers, venues, caterers, Dj’s, hair and beauty vendors!
  • As we take walks during this time  we speak to our neighbors and ask if we can forage and in exchange we will cook a meal for them or give them some tea or hand made soap or whatever we can offer in gratitude.
  • If we have children living with us take time to teach them our trade and creativity. Also our spouses!

We are blessed as we had formed a beautiful neighborhood group of 40 families over the past 35 years we have lived in our neighborhood! We have an email list, phone numbers, connected with them on facebook or Instagram. We have neighborhood community events, like neighborhood markets, neighborhood garage sales, neighborhood fundraisers, neighborhood Thanksgiving, neighborhood Halloween show and a neighborhood community garden and the list goes on. Now is the time if anyone does not know their neighbor to connect with them! You can even exchange the talents each neighbor has and support their business, you never know  a client, a talent or just a garden you needed a unique flower  might be just next door!
