[Photo courtesy of Ellen Sullivan] Hide caption @Cmccormickcct SANDWICH — Because she is battling cancer, Ellen Sullivan, 27, thought she and her fiance, Kenneth Lynch, had no choice but to settle for a courthouse wedding followed by a small family gathering. “We just didn’t have the time or finances to plan what I really wanted,” Sullivan said. But Sullivan wasn’t counting on a team of fairy godmothers — and godfathers — whose biggest holiday wish was to make Sullivan’s wedding dream come true. Headed by Ashley McGuire, an aesthetician from Bourne, more than a dozen florists, stylists, photographers and wedding planners are donating their services for the couple’s wedding, which is scheduled for Saturday at the 1620 Winery and Wine Bar, a donated venue in Plymouth. McGuire said she had been following Sullivan’s Facebook blog, “Cancer, Coffee, Kids & Chaos With Ellen,” and came up with the idea to help with the wedding after reading that Sullivan and Lynch had gotten engaged. At first McGuire thought she would just donate her own services as an aesthetician and maybe get some friends who also work with brides to volunteer to work with Sullivan. But then McGuire decided to go big. “What if I can do more than that?” McGuire wondered. “What if I can do an entire wedding? Within two days we had everything.” Just about. Modern Vintage Bridal donated Sullivan’s gown and her daughters’ flower girl dresses.
