The social media toolkit available February 1st, not only provides visuals and videos but also offers pre-written content and suggested hashtags for posts. Also, we provide florists with detailed guides on how to engage with local media including press releases professionally written for local media outlets and networking ideas to partner with local businesses and non-profits supporting women.

History of IWD
International Women’s Day began in the U.S. in 1909, inspired by women standing up for better working conditions. In 1910, at the second International Conference of Working Women held in Copenhagen, Clara Zetkin proposed that every year in every country there should be a celebration on the same day – a Women’s Day – to press for their demands. The proposal was greeted with unanimous approval by the conference of over 100 women from 17 countries. March 8 was officially adopted in 1913 and has been the day to honor and advocate for women’s achievements and rights ever since. The United Nations started celebrating the day in 1975, helping to solidify March 8 as a day of international recognition for women’s issues and progress.
Today, IWD is not affiliated with any one group, but brings together governments, women’s organizations, corporations, and charities. The day is marked with arts performances, talks, rallies, networking events, conferences, and marches. Themes are often adopted by organizations to reflect contemporary issues and focus advocacy efforts. The history of International Women’s Day is one of persistence, courage, and the undying demand for equality and recognition of women’s contributions to society.
