Using Smithers-Oasis Midnight Floral Foam as both functional and decorative elements, floral designer Erik Witcraft, AIFD, creates a contemporary centerpiece with an architectural flair. Erik cuts “slices” of Midnight Floral Foam and places them between blocks of the black foam to resemble slabs of slate. Between them, he arranges garden roses, hybrid Dianthus and Cymbidium orchids in narrow rows, or bands, with gracefully arching Callas sheltering the design and adding rhythmic movement and dimension to the design.
